These terms cover your use of the Retirement Countdown+ app, made by The Media Work. By using the app you accept them.
What the app is
Retirement Countdown+ counts down to a date you choose, and works out how many of those days you are due to be at work based on the pattern, holidays and leave you enter. It is a planning aid. It is not financial, pension, legal or employment advice, and you should not rely on it for anything that matters legally or financially.
The numbers are only as accurate as what you put in. Check anything important with your employer or your pension provider.
The free week and the unlock
Everything is unlocked for seven days after you first install the app, so you can see the whole thing before deciding.
After that, the number of days until your date remains free indefinitely, on the home screen and in the widget. The rest — workday counting, shift rotas, holidays and leave, hours left at work, the hours, minutes and seconds under the number, the daily quote, themes, the bucket list, milestones, share cards and backup — requires a one-off purchase.
That purchase is a single payment, not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again. It applies to the store account you bought it with, so you can restore it on a new phone using the Restore option in the app.
The seven days are counted on the device. Deleting and reinstalling the app may reset them.
Payment and refunds
All payments are handled by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your card details.
Refunds are handled by whichever store you bought from, under their terms. We cannot issue a refund ourselves, but if something is wrong please email us first — most problems are quicker to fix than to refund.
Your data
Your countdown and everything in it lives on your phone. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
Because there is no account and no server copy, deleting the app deletes your data. Use the backup feature before changing phone if you want to keep it.
Fair use
Please do not attempt to decompile the app, work around the purchase, or redistribute it.
Availability
The app is provided as it is. We aim to keep it working on current phones and to fix problems promptly, but we cannot guarantee it will be free of faults or available without interruption.
To the extent the law allows, The Media Work is not liable for any loss arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited.
Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
